From Human Ties, Spring 2009, interview with Forrest Cuch, Director of the Division of Indian Affairs:
“All of us hide behind falsehoods, and there are a lot of them out there between Indian people and whites. There is a fear of something unknown, maybe, and so people cling to myths, legends, instead of confronting the truth. But, in my experience, truth inspires more truth and moves people toward a higher consciousness and more genuine relationships. Without the truth, relationships remain superficial. It’s all pretension.”
